You Don’t Need to Be an AI Expert to Use AI Well

December 18, 2025

Hey friend 👋🏽
Let’s clear something up real quick—using AI well has very little to do with being an expert and a whole lot to do with being curious.

AI isn’t a test you pass. It’s a tool you try. And the good news? You don’t need to know everything to get started. You just need to start.

Here are three ways to use AI well—no expertise required.

1. Treat AI like a thinking partner, not a replacement.
You don’t have to hand AI the wheel. Let it sit in the passenger seat. Use it to brainstorm, organize thoughts, or explore options—not to think for you, but to think with you.

2. Start with questions, not perfect prompts.
If you can ask a question, you can use AI. “Can you help me think this through?” works just fine. Clarity comes with practice, not pressure.

3. Focus on usefulness, not perfection.
AI doesn’t need to be impressive to be helpful. If it saves you time, sparks an idea, or reduces mental load—it did its job.

So friend…you don’t need to know it all to use AI well. Start curious and let usefulness lead the way.
